Annie Gapihan, owner

I founded Otis & Oak with one goal in mind: to make the transition to and from Washington, D.C., easier for international professionals and their families. Having spent nearly a decade at the World Bank as an urban specialist, working on housing affordability and livability projects from Buenos Aires to Karachi, I’ve seen firsthand the unique challenges that come with relocating.
During my time at the World Bank, I had the privilege of collaborating with passionate, brilliant professionals across all sectors. Many of them, like you, faced the daunting task of moving to D.C. or preparing for an international post, often with limited time and resources. I saw how overwhelming it could be to navigate D.C.’s housing market without a local credit history, or to manage a property remotely while stationed in another country.
In 2021, I launched Otis & Oak to bridge this gap and provide a trusted, comprehensive service for international professionals. With my background as both a housing expert and engineer, I’m able to offer a full suite of property management services—from securing tenants and proactive maintenance to preparing your home for your return. These services are specifically designed around the needs of international staff from the World Bank, IMF, State Department, foreign embassies, and international companies.
Relocating should be exciting, not stressful. If you’re moving to or from Washington, D.C., I’m here to make sure your property needs are handled with care and professionalism. Let’s discuss how I can help you today!
